Russian Hill Houses

Russian Hill is one of San Francisco’s quintessential neighborhoods, with well established architectural patterns and very few vacant building sites. The Lombard Street site offers a rare opportunity to develop a context sensitive urban infill project. The site slopes steeply upwards from the street and currently is occupied by the ruins of a failed project that started in the mid-1990’s.

We have proposed two modest houses, both respecting the pattern of development on this block of Lombard Street. A shared garage and entrance serves both residences, one fronting the street, and another at the rear of the lot that continues the historic development pattern established by adjacent parcels.
